The Tulane Law Fund supports scholarships, innovative skills-training programs, career development services, diversity and more. Your support is important not only in helping these vital initiatives, but also in fostering a broader culture of giving by alumni that will raise the visibility and national standing of Tulane Law School in years to come. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and current and future students who will benefit from your gift, thank you for your generosity and leadership in support of Tulane this Giving Day!
Scholarships: This year, more than 80 percent of 1Ls received competitive scholarship packages, and the median amount awarded was $25,000. Scholarships strengthen Tulane by allowing the law school to recruit and retain the best and brightest students from around the country. They also empower students to pursue their passions without the burden of unmanageable debt.
Skills-training: Tulane Law’s Intersession Boot Camps and externship programs give students experiences that prepare them for the workforce. Continuing to grow opportunities for hands-on learning is one of Dean David Meyer’s top priorities.
Career Development: Tulane Law School is committed to expanding its career development services and has hired four new staff members in 2018 to lead the charge, including an Assistant Dean for Career Development & Diversity Initiatives, two Career Counselors, and a Senior Program Director and Career Counselor.
Diversity: This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first African American to graduate from Tulane Law School. In honor of Michael Starks and with a commitment to expanding Tulane Law's recruitment and support of diverse students and faculty, the law school launched the Michael Starks Fund for Diversity Initiatives in 2018.
